Cost savings for every law enforcement agency in Kaufman County.

“A Juvenile Detention Center would allow law enforcement officers to spend more time patrolling neighborhoods since they would no longer be required to transport youth offenders to detention centers in other parts of Texas. This will allow us to be more efficient with your tax dollars and better fund programs proven to rehabilitate at-risk youth while doing more to fight gang violence and drug dealers.”
Sheriff Bryan Beavers
Small investment for a big return in public safety.
The Juvenile Detention Center will cost approximately $40 million, and like with all county government projects, cost-savings measures will be implemented to make sure there are no cost overruns. The cost to the average homeowner will only be around $2 a month.
A plan developed by law enforcement & taxpayers.
Months of research and analysis were conducted to determine the best solution to house violent juvenile offenders. Throughout this process, the county listened to the advice and counsel of law enforcement officials, judges, and taxpayers to ensure that the Juvenile Detention Center will help reduce crime and protect homeowners.
Savings for law enforcement agencies.
With a local Juvenile Detention Center, there will be cost savings for law enforcement organizations that would no longer need to transport arrested juveniles to similar centers in central and west Texas. By freeing up millions of dollars over the next decade, new programs could be funded that crack down on gang violence, drug dealers, and violent juvenile crime.
